M&A and Strategy

Alex is a seasoned financial and M&A professional with over 20 years of experience in executing complex financial transactions ranging from $5 Million to $5 Billion in a variety of industrial and service sectors in Latin America, Europe, and the U.S with a particular emphasis on financial institutions, payments and emerging markets.

His areas of expertise include business development strategy and implementation; complex financial structuring and analysis (acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, joint ventures); cross-border M&A; execution and management of transactions; project management; financial structuring; due diligence; management of cross-functional teams; deal making and negotiation with counter parties.

Between 2008 and 2014, Alex worked at Barclaycard as Head of Corporate Finance. In that capacity, he led the implementation of Barclaycard’s inorganic growth agenda and managed cross-border teams in charge of executing M&A transactions across all geographies.

Prior to that, Alex worked at Citigroup where he was a Director in the Corporate Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions group. Before joining Citigroup, Alex worked at Credit Lyonnais Securities and Lehman Brothers where he was responsible for cross-border M&A and capital raising activities on behalf of clients.

Alex has a B.A. in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, Mexico City and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. Alex is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew and conversant in French and Portuguese.
